The Country Register
The Country Register of North and South Carolina

Please welcome your new publisher!

Kimberly and JayWe would like to say goodbye and thank you to all of our loyal advertisers and friends of The Country Register of The Carolinas. As many of you know, giving up publishing this Country Register has not been an easy decision for us. When we took over this publication 3 years ago it was with the plan to 1.) bring stability in the publishing schedule and ownership to a paper that had changed hands often and 2.) to build the paper to a level similar to surrounding states and representing all of The Carolinas.

We are proud to have achieved our first goal and to have grown the paper to a respectable size with a record number of advertisers and content readers obviously enjoy. But when Kimberly Haskins approached us about the possibility of buying the paper we listened. Kimberly is a Florida native who spends time in The Carolinas and soon hopes to retire there. She has plans to take The Country Register of Carolinas to the next level and we saw her excitement and vision.

Not just anyone could have bought this publication from us! Kimberly and her husband Jay were looking for a small business for their retirement. Kimberly has been in accounting for 28 years as a CFO and Controller in the transportation industry – automotive dealerships, motorcycle dealerships and automotive rental companies. Kimberly has two sons – Steve and Blake (Blake lives in North Carolina) – and two step-daughters, Tiffany and Heather. They also have a 1 year old grandson named Damien. Their home is full of family and laughter and Kimberly is very excited to be taking on this new venture.

We believe that Kimberly and Jay will do a great job in helping you continue to grow your business in 2008 and beyond.

Gail and I are not going far – we continue to publish 3 other Country Registers. It will be nice to go back to one deadline date every two months and to be able to spend more time with the grandkids.

Please welcome Kimberly and Jay when they call or stop by to see (something we have not been able to do very often).

Thank you in advance for your continued business, interest in reading and friendship.
